Millennial Encounters at Nash Gallery Opening Reception

Nash Gallery, 371 Bluff Street, hosted an opening reception for Millennial Encounters, an emerging artist showcase on Friday, April 11 from 7-10 p.m. This multi-genre exhibit that runs through June 15 features the work of emerging artists from the art departments of Clarke University and Loras College. The artists’ work include explorations in photography, installation, collage, mixed media/conceptual, painting, illustration, drawing, ceramics, and sculpture. Featured artists include Sara Steuer, Randi Westervelt, Abbey Tjebkes, and Mark Fuentebella from Loras College and Hannah Goldsmith, Traci Bauer, Jenna Michel, Maggie Scahill, and Kayla Carlson from Clarke University.

Retro Rewind (featuring Cars and Guitars)

The Retro Rewind took place in downtown Dubuque at the Five Flags Theater and Arena on January 11, 2014. $10 admission covered both the Film Festival and the Cars and Guitars event. Nikki Hill was the headline act in the Five Flags Theater that night. It was the official pre-party for Vintage Torque Fest, and a family-friendly day in downtown Dubuque.

Iowan born businessman and philanthropist Mark Falb was recognized for his support to numerous Julien Dubuque Region non-profit groups (Colts Drum and Bugle, Grand Opera House, University of Dubuque, Humane Society, and Dubuque Shooting Society to name a few), and honored for his leadership with Westmark Enterprises and Kendall Hunt Publishing Company, as the 44th TH First Citizen.
